Privacy Policy — Regex Tester

Privacy Policy — Regex Tester Last updated: 25 August 2026 Regex Tester (com.tahatec.regex_tester) is an Android app published by Tahatec. This policy explains what the app does and does not collect. The short version Every pattern you write and every piece of text you test against is processed entirely on your device. None of it is uploaded, and there is no account, no sign-in and no server belonging to this app. The app does show ads and does report anonymous usage and crash data, and that is described in full below. What stays on your device The pattern you are editing, the text you are testing against, and your replacement template. Patterns you save, including their names, notes and the test text kept with them. Your recent-pattern history. Your settings: theme, code text size, and whether advisory notes are shown. These are stored in the app's own private storage and are removed when you uninstall the app or clear its data from Android's app settings. What is collected, and by whom The app uses three Google services. Each has its own privacy policy, linked below. Service What it receives Why Google AdMob (with Meta Audience Network mediation) Your device's advertising identifier, approximate location derived from your IP address, and standard device and ad-interaction information. To select and measure the ads shown in the app. Google Analytics for Firebase Anonymous usage events, an app-instance identifier, and general device and country information. To see which features are used, so effort goes to the right ones. Firebase Crashlytics Crash stack traces, the device model and OS version, and an installation identifier. To find and fix crashes. What the analytics events never contain: your pattern, your test text, your replacement template, the names or notes of your saved patterns, or the contents of your clipboard. Where a measurement would otherwise reveal content, only a shape is recorded — for example a pattern's length as a bucket such as "11–25 characters", or a match count as a bucket such as "2–10" — never the text itself. Notifications The app can send occasional announcements through Firebase Cloud Messaging. These are off until you turn them on in Settings, and they are sent to everyone who has opted in — the app does not target individual devices. Turning the system notification permission off stops them. Ad personalisation and consent If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or a US state with applicable privacy legislation, the app asks about ad personalisation using Google's User Messaging Platform before requesting any personalised ad. You can change that answer at any time from the privacy options in Settings, where the option is offered. Children The app is a developer tool and is not directed at children. It does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. Your choices Remove everything the app has stored: uninstall the app, or use Android Settings → Apps → Regex Tester → Storage → Clear storage. Reset your advertising identifier: Android Settings → Privacy → Ads. Opt out of personalised ads: in the same Android Ads settings, or through the consent options in the app where offered. Ask about the data held by the services above: contact us using the address below, and we will pass the request on. Third-party policies Google Privacy Policy (AdMob, Analytics for Firebase, Crashlytics) How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services Meta Privacy Policy (Audience Network mediation) Changes If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it. A change that affects what is collected will also be described in the app's release notes. Contact Questions about this policy: tahatec@yahoo.com
