Privacy Policy — UAE Gratuity Calculator

Android com.tahatec.gratuity_calculator · iOS com.tahatec.gratuityCalculator · Published by Tahatec · Effective 14 October 2026

UAE Gratuity Calculator (“the app”) estimates the end-of-service gratuity due under UAE labour law from a basic salary, a first and last working day, and any unpaid leave you enter. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with data, on Android and on iOS. The app is independent and is not affiliated with the UAE government or any authority.

The calculation happens on your device

The gratuity is computed by the app’s own code, entirely on your device, and works offline. So that you can find them again, your calculations are kept in a History list stored only on your device: the salary, the dates, the unpaid leave days and the result. Deleting an entry, tapping Clear All, or uninstalling the app removes them.

What leaves your device

1. Advertising. The app shows ads via Google AdMob, with Meta Audience Network as a mediated partner. The ads SDKs may collect device identifiers (the Android advertising ID, or on iOS the IDFA — only if you allow tracking), coarse location derived from the IP address, and diagnostic signals to serve and measure ads. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and regulated US states, ads are requested only after you make a choice in the consent dialog (Google UMP). On iOS, the system’s App Tracking Transparency prompt asks before the IDFA is used, and your answer can be changed at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

2. Analytics and crash reporting. The app uses Google Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics to understand how the calculator is used and to fix crashes. When you calculate, an analytics event records the basic salary you entered, your first and last working days, the unpaid leave days, the years of service and the resulting gratuity. These are not linked to your name, email or any account — the app has none — and are not used for advertising. Crash reports contain stack traces and device model information.

3. Notifications (optional). After your first calculation the app asks whether it may send notifications. If you allow it, the app registers with Firebase Cloud Messaging (via Apple Push Notification service on iOS) so it can receive occasional announcements; this creates a push token for your device. Declining or later disabling notifications in system settings stops them. Notifications never contain anything about your calculations.

What the app does not do

Permissions

On Android the app uses the INTERNET permission (for ads, analytics and crash reporting) and, if you allow it, the notification permission. On iOS it asks only for notification permission and for tracking permission through the App Tracking Transparency prompt.

Children

The app is a general-audience utility and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Deleting your data

Everything the app stores (the History list and your language preference) is on your device and is deleted by clearing History or uninstalling the app. For questions about data held by the services above, contact us and we will help.

Changes

Changes to this policy will be posted at this address with a new effective date.
